We love hearing about new uses of the tips and articles that we write for our TidBITS Content Network subscribers. In episode 305 of the Command-Control-Power podcast, Jerry Zigmont of MacWorks shares how he’s using TCN tips to keep his Google My Business page fresh. Start listening to the podcast at 10:02.

I wasn’t aware of Google My Business before, but it’s a free tool that Google provides to help business owners promote their companies on Google Search and Maps. Along with allowing you to provide more (and potentially more accurate) information about your business, Google My Business lets you respond to reviews, post special offers, and look better in Google search results, especially when potential clients are searching for local Apple help.

What Jerry figured out is that Google My Business lets you create posts that appear in your business listing. TCN’s short tips are the perfect length to use for My Business posts, and Jerry says that Google even reminds him to post new ones every week. It’s an easy win, and likely far more effective than social media.

So if you haven’t already signed up for Google My Business, get that process started (it takes a few days to verify the account via a code sent to you on a postcard), and then start using your TCN content to keep the listing fresh.
